Dear Students and Families,
The shelves await you with many new books to check out, read and enjoy.
We welcome both to new and to returning students and hope you are all looking forward to another exciting and rewarding time in the library. STM is here to prepare our students to learn how to learn with comprehension and critical thinking skills. Good reading skills, learning how to work in team situations, contributing to group projects, and learning that communication is reciprocal give students the opportunity to develop social skills and leadership qualities. Welcome to our school which is dedicated to the highest quality of education.

Help Wanted
If you are in the 4th,5th, or 6th grade and you would like to help out in the library, shelving books, cleaning and organizing, then consider our Jr. Librarians Club. Applications will be available September 9th. (Come to the library for details)

QUESTION: Were you an "enthusiastic"  summer  reader?
Did you participate in a 2015 Summer Reading Program at a public library?
If you received a Texas Reading Club certificate from any 2015 Summer Reading Program at a Public Library please show it to Mrs. Fontenot.
Students, by their participation in any Summer Reading Program at a Public Library, may earn 5pts. toward their individual Accelerated Reader points. (Students must take any two AR Quizzes to qualify for this AR bonus points.)
Students 1st -8th are eligible for these points, see Mrs. Fontenot for details.

Our Accelerated Reader program helps students, 1st – 8th,
read books of interest at their own level. Students select fiction and nonfiction books that are difficult enough to be challenging, but not too difficult to cause frustration. After reading a book students may take an AR quiz in the library and receive assigned points. There are AR Quizzes for over 150,000 titles.  Our library is open till 4PM on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons for students to take quizzes.  A parent is asked to come with the student during quiz time.
